I’m Brandin LeBlanc and I’m on a journey to run every single street in Houston.

This project is about community.

running every part of it…

learning its history, people and places…

giving back to it through local non-profits.

My Background

I’ve always been a runner, from the early days of playing soccer to high school cross country. When my daughters were born, my wife and I began to run a bit more, this time pushing a stroller. Since then, I’ve ran various events from the local 5k to the Boston Marathon and ultras on the trails, but nothing quite speaks to me as a runner like experiencing the great city I call home, Houston, on foot. I enjoy the challenge and reward of running each street. This is a bit of my journey. Follow along at the links below.

Street by street, running Houston.

Houston is Big Y’all

Not only is it the 4th largest city in the US by population, it is also the 9th most expansive city by land area. Lots of people over a large area means lots of streets.

Houston currently has over 13,000 streets, a number constantly on the rise as more neighborhoods are built. Those streets are over 10,000 centerline miles of pavement.

When I fully committed to this project, I established some rules. I’m running every named, public street within the Houston City Limits (seen outlined in blue).

I’d love to run some streets of Houston with you.
